Jen & James’ Salcombe Beachy Themed Wedding at Cliff House Trust
When Jen and James first got in touch with me about their beach themed Cliff House wedding in Salcombe, I was so excited. They were planning the most fun and colourful wedding with beachy influences, pom poms and even a little boat trip. Jen and James are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
I began the morning at Pitchford House, where Jen was getting ready with all of her girls. My second shooter Sarah went to hang out with the boys.
The wedding took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, and was a traditional church ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which everyone enjoyed/cried at. After the ceremony and a big cheer from everyone, we took advantage of the break in the rain to get some group shots done.
The wedding reception took place at Cliff House, which they’d decorated with colourful beachy details, from nautical stripes to decorative anchors. It was gorgeous.
It was a slightly rainy day, which luckily didn’t put a dampener on moods. Getting married in April and the possibility of rain was one of Jen’s fears for the wedding. She didn’t want all of her pictures to be grey and dull. So she chose to inject all of the bright colours into other aspects of the day. I think it worked out perfectly! While the guests ate the delicious canapés, we took portrait photos. My favourite photo from our couples session is this one – CUUUUUTE.
During the reception they had live music from one of Jen’s friends, which went down a storm and had everyone singing along. For the wedding breakfast they had a slap up meal made lovingly by the catering company that Jen works for, and it was loved by all the guests. After the meal they cut the wedding cheese tower, then the couple hit the dancefloor and the band kicked off the party.
Here’s their colourful beach themed wedding! And if you’d like a throwback to their pre wedding session in Salcombe – check it out here.
